Rana, my daughter, was 4 years old in 1998. One summer night, I showed her the clouds which were crossing the sky and hiding the moon. Once the moon had completely disappeared behind the dark clouds and there was no light left in the sky, she said to me: "Daddy, pull out the moon once more "! Later she would find out that Dad was not almighty, but one year later, this photograph was for me a way of giving her the moon! Zara my assistant and I worked several days to set up the scene. We put a large light box (cumulite) behind the  perforated background so as to evoke the small stars. Rana was exposed once by a low-angle light, structured and slightly blue and jelly-like  to suggest the moon. Then, for the 15 minutes while Rana was playing outside, in perfect obscurity, I left the obturator open and, with the light, I painted the basket, the stars and the moon (made of papier-mâché and hung by invisible strings). Later, Laurent Bardet, a friend of mine and graphic designer, inspired by this photograph, created the logo " Blue-up ".
